Festoon Lights create a very subtle lighting effect. They are used to hang over a space and create a relaxed but visually stunning atmosphere. They are very popular at weddings, parties or events. Choose from warm white or colour change LED versions depending on the effect you are after.

You can also take them to the next level and add lanterns to create a unique lighting effect.

Our Festoon Lights come with a standard LED warm white globe, however, we do have different globe styles and shapes you can substitute it for if needed. Get in touch with us today for recommendations on incorporating festoon lighting at your next event.

Please note, due to the droop/hang of the strings, we recommend allowing a maximum 7m distance for a 10m string and a maximum17m distance for a 20m string.

What is required to make this light work?

All you are required to do is plug into power, attach globes and switch on.

Yes if using the LED version of the Festoon lights you can choose from 12 preset colours or you can have them flashing or slow colour change. If using globe fixtures you will need you to place these in the connect provided on the festoon string.

How do I hang these light up?

To hang this light you are required to either have hooks or attach a rope or cable to lighting so that it can be fixed at either end if hanging between two points. It is important to remember that the lights will require power at one end and can’t be tied with the power cable attached to the globes to hang up between two points. Our staff can suggest ways to hang lighting using trussing and other rigging depending on your requirements. Upright black poles are available for hire from $40 each.

Can these lights be used outside?

Yes, these lights can be used outside but we don’t recommend using them outside if the weather is bad. Festoon lights are water-resistant but not waterproof.

How do I get the best effect out of this light?

To get the best effect from this light we suggest using it with lanterns which will look fantastic at any wedding or party.

Do I need a dimmer?

Dimmers are always recommended if you are having more than 4-5 strings as the festoon string can become bright if you have a lot in one area. Dimmers can be added for an additional $50 each, each dimmer can hold four 20m or eight 10m strings at a time.

What if I accidentally break a globe?

The cost of replacing a broken Festoon Light Globe is $8 per globe.
