Episode 10: A Week Behind The Scenes at Feel Good Events

If you’ve ever wondered what a real week looks like inside Feel Good Events, this video gives you a front row seat. It was one of our busiest weeks of the year, with a wedding photo shoot, a first birthday party at the Melbourne Zoo, and a huge corporate trade show for Eastern Distributors with all of them happening within days of each other. It was full of long hours, creative problem solving, and a lot of teamwork, and the video captures the energy and pace of what our crew does every week to make events look great.

The week began with a styled wedding shoot at the beautiful Balgownie Estate in the Yarra Valley. Monique led the team on this one, working closely with our florist, Claire, to create a fresh and contemporary wedding look using greens, whites, and blush pinks. This shoot also marked Louise’s first day on site. She jumped straight into the action and held her own, even with cameras rolling and deadlines tight. The video shows the setup coming together piece by piece, with the team layering florals, décor and styling elements to build the full wedding scene. By the end of day one the shoot was a success, Balgownie Estate looked stunning, and everyone was ready for the next job.

Day two shifted completely in style as the crew headed to Melbourne Zoo to set up a first birthday party at Leopard Lodge. This event had a moody safari theme with black and green tones, animal inspired backdrops, and themed stations for photos, cupcakes, and gift tables. Monique was again the team leader, guiding everyone through multiple installs while keeping the look consistent across the room. The team worked quickly, and the video shows a lot of laughter and good energy on site, even though the setup was large. By the time guests arrived, the room looked playful, bold, and perfectly suited to a first birthday celebration. Christian and his family clearly had a memorable day.

Day three was the beginning of something much bigger, the setup for the Eastern Distributors annual Open House trade show, one of the biggest installations we handle each year. The first day was mostly unloading trucks, placing foundations, and preparing the site for what was to come. There isn’t much footage from this part because the crew was flat out, but the next day shows just how much work was ahead.

Day four was the major install day. Almost the entire Feel Good Events team was on site for this one, and Emma led the operation. The trade show included around 89 stall holders, live feeds, interstate suppliers, two session areas, and large decorative zones spread across the venue. Emma explains in the video how planning begins months earlier, usually around February, with close collaboration between our team and Eastern’s marketing manager, Megan. The footage shows fencing going in, lighting rigs being installed, archways being built, furniture being placed and dozens of smaller details happening at once. It was a big job, with a lot of moving parts, and the team hustled all day to bring the layout together.

Day five was the final push. The show started an hour earlier than previous years, which meant even less time to finish everything before suppliers arrived. The team worked fast to get the last details done, while stall holders began setting up their stands around them. Despite the time pressure, everything was finished with time to spare. Marcus and Emma sat down at the end of the day to reflect on the process, the teamwork, and the scale of the event. Both were tired, proud and relieved to see everything in place. They talked about how challenging the week had been with so many events happening at once, but also how rewarding it was to see everything come together.

That night the trade show opened and the venue was buzzing. Suppliers showcased new products, Food Truck Alley kept everyone fed, prizes were handed out and the whole evening had a lively, upbeat feel. The video closes with a look at the finished event, the happy crowd and a very tired, very satisfied Feel Good Events team.

This week was one of the busiest we’ve had this year, but it also summed up exactly what we love about our work. Weddings, parties, corporate events, creative installs, tight turnarounds, long days, lots of laughs and a team that always pulls together.
