Episode 12: A Big Week of Bollywood, Christmas Parties, and Festive Styling at Feel Good Events

Some weeks at Feel Good Events are big, and then there are the weeks where everything seems to land at once. This video takes you behind the scenes of one of our busiest stretches, with three major events in a row, a large themed gala, a corporate Christmas party filled with florals, and another end of year celebration packed with festive displays. It gives a real look at what goes into styling events in Melbourne at this scale, from planning and floral design to setup days and the final finishing touches.

The week kicked off with a major highlight: the AMIGA Montessori Annual Ball. This is our third year planning this gala from start to finish, and it has become a favourite for our team. This year’s theme was Bollywood, so the styling needed to feel bold, colourful and full of personality. Monique walked through the design choices, explaining why we leaned into bright, vibrant colours, metallic accents and a gold sequin backdrop to create that lively Bollywood feel.

Because we manage the planning process end to end for this client, we were able to use our Feel Good Formula to really create a great experience for all the guests. We are also able to bring in our own suppliers, props and stationery to help create a smoother experience for the client when it comes to the event planning.

Our florist, Claire, created two alternating centrepieces, one in a compote vase and the other in a foam base, paired with sand candles to suit the theme. The DJ area was another major focal point, so the team framed it with gold sequin draping, pink fabric and a gold acrylic booth to make the stage pop. The event also included a traditional henna lounge styled with low seating, cushions and Arabian stools, building a dedicated cultural moment within the gala. The footage captures how all these details came to life on site, creating a warm and colourful atmosphere.

Next on the schedule was CBR’s Christmas party at Greenfields in Albert Park. This event was completely different in tone, leaning heavily into floral design. Claire produced a huge number of custom pieces including varied table centrepieces, multiple ceiling installations and vase arrangements used to highlight key furniture and décor across the venue. Even the bars were styled with large floral arrangements to make the space feel cohesive from the moment guests walked in. The video shows the team building the look layer by layer, with the final result making a strong impression on the client.

The following day, the team moved straight into another Christmas event, a corporate function for Scalzo Foods in West Melbourne. Karissa took the lead on this one and gave an overview of the setups as everything came together. The first display featured two massive 2.7 metre Christmas trees surrounded by lush wrapped presents. Another section included a christmas themed backdrop with full size 1.8 metre nutcracker figures, garlands and even more presents.

There were smaller details too, like cocktail table centrepieces designed in a fun Christmas style, and a final Santa and candy cane display near the DJ area. Each setup had its own character but still tied together through colour, props and traditional Christmas shapes. The atmosphere during setup was relaxed and upbeat, with everyone clearly enjoying being in full festive mode.

By the end of the week, the team was equal parts exhausted and proud. Three large events in just a few days means tight schedules, quick turnarounds and a huge amount of teamwork. The video captures all of it: the setups, the florals, the problem solving, the laughs, the creative decisions, and the final walkthroughs when everything is complete. It’s a genuine look at what goes into bringing big celebrations to life, whether it’s a themed ball, a corporate Christmas function or an end-of-year staff party.

This week also marked the end of the year for Feel Good Events, and the video closes with a message from the team wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas. Watching it gives you a sense not just of the events themselves, but of the people behind them. It shows how much coordination, care and creativity goes into every setup, and why the team takes so much pride in the work they do.

If you enjoy seeing real event setups, behind-the-scenes action and the variety of jobs we take on across Melbourne, this video is definitely worth a watch. It’s a great snapshot of the energy, skill and teamwork that go into making events feel special.

We design and install wedding decor that looks good and sets the feeling you want your guests to have the moment they walk in.
