Episode 12: A Big Week of Bollywood, Christmas Parties, and Festive Styling at Feel Good Events
Some weeks at Feel Good Events are busy. And then there are the weeks where everything lands at once.
This was one of those weeks.
Three major events back to back across Melbourne. A large-scale themed gala, a floral-heavy corporate Christmas party, and another end-of-year celebration built around full festive styling. It is a good snapshot of what actually goes into event styling in Melbourne at this level, from early planning through to installation and final walkthroughs.
If you are looking for real insight into wedding styling, corporate event styling, or Christmas party setups, this week shows how different each event can be, even when they happen within days of each other.
AMIGA Montessori Annual Ball
Bollywood Themed Gala Event Styling in Melbourne
The week kicked off with one of the biggest events on the calendar, the AMIGA Montessori Annual Ball.
This is our third year planning and styling this gala from start to finish, and it is one of those events where we take full control of the process. Venue coordination, styling, suppliers, layout, and overall experience.
This year’s theme was Bollywood.
So the brief was clear. Bold colour. High energy. Strong visual impact.
The styling leaned into that with:
- Bright, vibrant colour palettes
- Metallic accents throughout the room
- A gold sequin backdrop to anchor the main space
Because we manage this event end to end, we are able to apply our full planning approach and bring in our own suppliers, props, and custom stationery. It creates a smoother process for the client and a more cohesive result across the entire event.
Our in-house florist Claire designed two alternating centrepieces, one set in a compote vase and the other in a foam base, paired with sand candles to balance the bold colour with softer lighting.
The DJ area was treated as a key focal point. It was framed with gold sequin draping, layered pink fabric, and a gold acrylic DJ booth so it stood out from anywhere in the room.
We also created a dedicated henna lounge, styled with low seating, cushions, and Arabian stools. This was not just decor. It was a separate experience zone within the event that added a cultural layer to the night.
When everything came together, the space felt full, colourful, and high energy. Exactly what the brief called for.
CBR Christmas Party
Floral Corporate Event Styling at Greenfields Albert Park
Next up was a completely different style of event.
CBR’s Christmas party at Greenfields in Albert Park.
This one moved away from bold theming and focused heavily on floral styling and layering.
The approach here was about scale and consistency.
- A large volume of custom floral centrepieces across all guest tables
- Multiple ceiling installations to bring the height of the room down and make it feel more intimate
- Feature floral arrangements used to highlight key areas like the hanging chair
- Bars styled with larger arrangements to carry the look across the entire venue
Instead of relying on lots of different decor elements, this event used florals to do most of the work.
The result was a space that felt cohesive from the moment guests walked in, with every area connected visually.
It is a good example of how corporate event styling in Melbourne can be kept simple in concept but still have a strong impact when done at the right scale.
Scalzo Foods Christmas Function
Themed End of Year Party Styling in West Melbourne
The following day, straight into another setup.
Scalzo Foods Christmas function in West Melbourne.
This event was all about festive styling and creating multiple visual zones throughout the space.
Karissa led the design and setup, building out three main feature areas.
The first was a large Christmas tree installation:
- Two 2.7 metre Christmas trees
- Surrounded by styled presents
- Positioned as a strong visual anchor
The second was a themed backdrop area:
- 1.8 metre nutcracker figures
- Garland detailing
- Layered Christmas props
The third was a Santa and candy cane feature near the DJ area, adding another point of interest and tying the theme across the room.
On top of that, cocktail tables were styled with Christmas themed centrepieces to carry the look consistently throughout the space.
Each area had its own identity, but everything was connected through colour, scale, and traditional Christmas styling elements.
This is the kind of setup that works well for corporate Christmas parties in Melbourne, where guests are moving around and interacting with different parts of the room.
What a Week Like This Actually Looks Like
By the end of the week, the team was equal parts exhausted and proud.
Three large events in a few days means:
- tight bump-in schedules
- fast turnarounds
- constant problem solving
- and a lot of coordination behind the scenes
What you see in the final result is only part of it.
What you do not always see is:
- the planning decisions
- the layout adjustments
- the small fixes during setup
- the way the team works together to get everything done on time
That is what actually makes these events work.
A Look Behind the Scenes of Event Styling in Melbourne
This week also marked the end of the year for Feel Good Events.
And it is a good reminder of what goes into every event, whether it is a wedding, a corporate gala, or an end-of-year party.
It is not just about how things look.
It is about:
- how the space is set up
- where the focus goes
- how guests move and interact
- how everything comes together on the night
That is what turns a styled space into a successful event.
