TEEG 2026 Awards Night Gala at Crown Melbourne
TEEG’s 2026 Sparkle Gala Awards Night, was transformed in Crown Melbourne’s River Room into a gold and silver shimmer-filled space layered with reflective finishes, dramatic foyer styling, lighting and interactive guest moments.
With almost 200 guests attending, the night was designed to feel energetic from the moment people arrived, not just during the awards presentation itself. The foyer became a major focus, creating stronger interaction points through the sponsor wall, selfie moments, glitter bar and photo opportunities while the main room balanced sparkle, atmosphere and a packed dancefloor energy throughout the night.
Read through how our team developed the concept, refined the layout and transformed the space from initial ideas through to setup day.
The Client Brief
When TEEG first approached us, they already had a clear direction in mind, a gold and silver “Sparkle Gala” theme with a fun, high-energy atmosphere.
The challenge wasn’t coming up with ideas, it was working out what would actually have impact in the River Room once the space was filled with almost 200 guests.
The event styling included:
- foyer and entrance styling
- sponsor wall integration
- a photobooth and selfie mirror
- stage styling
- table centrepieces
- custom ENGAGE lettering
- interactive guest areas
- and a dancefloor-focused setup designed for a big party atmosphere
Rather than spreading the budget evenly across every area, the process became about identifying where styling would work hardest and how the different spaces would connect once the night was underway.
Choosing the Right Design Option
After the initial enquiry, Annabelle our Event Planner, recommended our Styling Support option as the best fit for the project.
This option is designed for clients who already have a general direction or theme in mind, but need help refining how everything will actually work in the space.
Instead of simply selecting décor, the process focused on:
- what would stand out in the River Room
- where guests would naturally gather
- how different spaces would connect across the night
- and how to make the event feel considered without overcrowding the room
For this event, that meant identifying which styling moments would create the biggest impact once guests arrived, rather than spreading the budget evenly across every area.
The Discovery Session Process
Once the design fee was approved, Annabelle scheduled a detailed discovery session with the client to properly break down the event.
This stage is a major part of how we work with styling and design clients. Before creating concepts or mood boards, we first work through how the event will actually function once people are in the room.
The discovery session covered:
- venue layout and access
- guest numbers and table positioning
- how guests would move between spaces
- foyer usage before and during the event
- styling priorities
- budget allocation
- stage requirements
- sponsor wall placement
- photobooth and selfie mirror positioning
- and whether ceiling installations were worth prioritising within the budget
One of the biggest decisions during this stage was shifting more of the styling focus toward the foyer and guest interaction areas instead of heavily styling the ceiling. Since guests would continue using the foyer throughout the night, this created more impact across the overall event rather than concentrating everything in one location.
This process also helped remove guesswork early by identifying:
- what would actually stand out in the venue
- where the room could feel flat or disconnected
- and how to keep different areas of the event visually connected once guests filled the space
This project is a strong example of how corporate awards night styling in Melbourne can completely change how a venue feels once guests arrive.
Developing the Sparkle Gala Concept
After the discovery session, Annabelle began developing the overall concept direction through Pinterest research, venue planning and collaboration with the Feel Good Events team.
The design direction focused on:
- layered gold and silver shimmer textures
- mirror balls and reflective finishes
- dramatic foyer styling
- warm metallic lighting
- interactive guest moments
- and strong photo opportunities throughout the night
Rather than relying on one large feature alone, the goal was to create multiple moments across the event that kept the room feeling active and visually engaging as guests moved through different areas.
During this stage, the original inspiration ideas were adjusted around:
- the Crown Melbourne venue layout
- guest numbers and table spacing
- installation timing and bump in access
- budget priorities
- and how the room would actually feel once filled with people
This is where the process moved beyond inspiration photos and became a practical event design plan that could be delivered smoothly on the day while still creating strong impact throughout the night.
